We are mourning after a shooting at a Colorado gay club that killed 5 and injured 19 people
We are shocked and devastated and ANGRY bc this senseless shooting is a direct result of anti-2SLGBTQIA+ rhetoric and legislation that has been gaining popularity in recent months. No, conservative politicians, we don't want your thoughts and prayers. How about letting us live our lives and stop demonizing queer people in the media??
Cornell University bans frat parties after multiple incidents of sexual assault
After multiple students were drugged and assaulted at a party earlier this month, the university suspended all parties. This is only temporary (for now) but it's still a major step forward in addressing how toxic and sexist frat culture is (bc spoiler alert: toxic frat bros become that toxic work colleague who makes spaces unsafe for gender-diverse folks and women)
Tuvalu becomes the first digital nation (but this isn't something to celebrate)
Tuvalu- an island nation with a population of 12,000 in between Hawaii and Australia- has announced that it's uploading itself to the metaverse. Why? Because it will physically stop existing because of climate change's rising sea levels. This isn't a celebration, it's an alarming example of how climate change isn't a fucking joke.

Doug Ford commemorates Transgender Day of Remembrance by denying trans people gender-affirming care
The Ford government refused to pass the Gender-Affirming Health Care Advisory Committee Act, which would work to broaden access to gender-affirming care across the province. This isn't the first time Ford has denied a bill like this, but the fact that Trans Day of Remembrance is Nov 20 is an extra kicker.
Once again Ford has every opportunity and all of the resources to make a difference and chooses not to.
